The Symbol of Friendship

There was a man who was telling stories to the children to pass his time and also they should  have a good knowledge on their routines and moral duties. So in due course his name became as story teller.
He wanted to tell about the friendship so he told the children that “My dear children I am going to tell you the story about truthfully and devotionally friendship, are you ready …”? all were happily replied  with raising hands “Yes sir”…
Having a good friend is delightfully amusing and a great gift to a man kind.  It is very difficult to have a good and truthful friend from childhood.  Very rare to find in this world. The best Example is Sri Krishna Sudhama friendship.

Sudama was a poor man. Sri Krishna was a king of Dwaraka puri. The both were good friends from their childhood.
Sudhama got married and had many children. He was very hard worker but his income was not enough to feed his family.
One day Sudhama’s wife told him, “See you are working very hard but it is not enough it does not matter if we are hungry but we should at least be able to feed our children enough”
Heard this from his wife shed tears from his eyes and told “Yes I am aware but I do not know what to do..? I do know only the teaching profession I am getting wages only this much, we cannot ask any favour or help anyone think what I can do more”
His wife replied and said “, “You talk of Krishna so often. You have been saying that you have a deep bond of friendship with him. He is the King of Dwarka, so why don’t you go to him? Sudama found wisdom in the words of his wife. He decided to go to Dwarka and said to his wife “certainly I will go to Krishna but what should I take for him?”
Sudama’s wife thought for some time and struck with an idea  and she went to paddy land and picked  some paddy from the land and put it for dry and she fried that and pound and clean it gave it to him and said this is for Krishna give this to him”
Sudama preceded  his journey to Dwaraka with that pound rice. After a long walk he entered in to dwaraka puri he overwhelmed with amazement. The entire town was built with gold and the people were having sufficient money for comfortable living. At last he reached to the palace. He went near the guard and told him that “My name is sudhama I am Krishna’s friend I wish to see him could you ask him that can I enter in?

As soon as hearing Sudhama’s arrival Krishna immediately ran to meet him. Everyone looked on in wonder upon seeing such a great King running bare-footed to meet his friend. Krishna saw sudhama happily hugged him greatly and took him into the palace.

They both of them very excited and recalled their childhood days and their gurugulam and so on and on they were talking so much. Served Royal feast, when he saw the different kind  of sweets, and vegetables he thought  “Krishna is my friend always he should be fortunate with flourishing wealth god bless him” then he thought of his children “I am eating royal feast but my children and suseela, whether they eat or not’ when he thought about his children and wife his eyes filled with tears..
Krishna noticed him and decided to help something for him and his family. After Sudhama  took rest for a while Krishna saw a small bundle in his side of the dhothi and said “Sudhama you have brought something for me you forgot to give it to me show …Sudhama felt  shy and he began to hide it but forcefully Krishna  took from him and removed the knot and saw the pound rice he felt very happy and he  took a handful and put in his mouth and said very nice, and took another mouthful of the pound rice sudhama pleased with Krishna and  emotionally embraced him he was so happy.
After he stayed with Krishna in his palace for two days  he took leave and returned home what a surprise his small home became a palace his children were wearing good cloths his wife too wearing nice cloth and jewelries Sudhama was thinking “I escaped from my chronic poverty because of Krishna’s pure lovable friendship”.
The moral lesson from this story is: one should not forget his old friendship even when he is a millionaire. The second lesson particularly this story emphasizes the humbleness and understanding nature of friends; one must have gratitude, and avoid jealousy.
So children, did you see how pure friendship of Krishna and Sudama? this incident happened many thousand years ago even now we are remembering. So Sri Krishna Sudhama friendship is the symbol of this world.
